Dr. Kate (Katrina) Schaefer began her career in the biotechnology industry. Although it was a challenging and fulfilling career, she missed having direct and positive interactions with people. So after two years working in advanced medical research labs, she applied for and was accepted into the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Schaefer has been serving the dental needs of her patients since 2003. As a specialist in Endodontics, she has developed a passion for painlessly saving patients’ natural teeth (and providing an alternative to extractions and implants). Through 17 years of endodontics experience, Dr. Schaefer has greatly expanded her abilities to deliver patient-focused care that leverages the most advanced medical research and technology. She has been asked to serve in private practice, university, and Federal government positions, and along the way benefitted from training and teaching with some of the best specialists in the United States.
Her broad experience has accumulated through her work and studies in major medical centers from Boston to Washington, DC to Virginia (before moving to Texas in 2012). These moves – from dental school to two advanced residencies to private practice – have underscored one common theme: whether on the East Coast or the Gulf Coast, patients are not excited to get root canal therapy! Dr. Schaefer recognizes this, but also knows how they can enjoy a lifetime of benefits if they are comfortable enough to proceed with endodontic treatment.
This is why Dr. Schaefer founded League City Endodontics.
At League City Endo, Dr. Schaefer is combining advanced technology with the best practices and approaches that she has gained over more than a decade and from across the country. In doing so, she has created an endodontic option that offers patients the choice of root canal therapy in a comfortable, modern, and patient-centric setting. She also can offer her “tiny hands with a big heart,” qualities which have past patients still calling for treatment from thousands of miles away!
